N. Pecos St. (LoHi) – New Single Family Home

ARCWEST ARCHITECTS was hired to assist the owners in realizing their dream of owning a new single family home in the popular urban Highlands LoHi Neighborhood.

The Highlands LoHi Neighborhood is experiencing a boom in restaurant conversions and high end scrap-and-replace residential construction.  Larger unique commercial spaces and homes are being renovated and many of the smaller neglected buildings are being demolished and replaced.  The owners understand the value of investing in this area and purchased a large residential lot with an existing home.

The owners were confident that they wanted their home to reflect an efficient contemporary style.  Exterior spaces which maximize passive winter sun and shade summer heat are provided at all levels.  The ground level has the main patio with fire pit accessing the living and dining areas. The second level Master Bedroom balcony provides a private getaway for the owners.  The top level terrace provides spectacular sunsets and city views.  Each outdoor space is designed to serve a unique purpose.

Exterior materials consist of two tone hard stucco with horizontal cedar siding. A stone wainscot is used at the front of the house and lower level fireplace surround.
