Brigadier Building

Kevin Anderson, Principal at ArcWest Architects provided architectural
and design services for the redevelopment of the storefront and signage
for the Brigadier building. This building is part of the historical East
Colfax arts and entertainment district known for its Art Deco and Mid
Century Modern architecture. This is a federally funded project and was
administered by the City of Aurora’s Community Development office.

Improvements made to this project include new aluminum storefronts,
signage, building paint and the incorporation of locally made custom tiles
above and below the window systems. The tile color and pattern was
designed by Kevin Anderson and interior designer, Erika Rundiks to
reflect the areas Art Deco heritage. Fabrication of the tile is by a local
artist and part of the East Colfax art community.
