ArcWest Architects is providing architectural and Planning Department
submissions coordination services for the redevelopment of the building
facade and signage for the Pacific Jewelry & Loan building. This is
ArcWest Architects second redevelopment project with building owner
Shirley Widom who also owns the Brigadier Building.
This building is part of the historical East Colfax Mainstreet Overlay
District known for its Art Deco and Mid Century Modern architecture.
This is a federally funded project and was administered by the City of
Aurora’s Community Development office.
Improvements made to this project include new steel canopies, signage
including a new marquee projecting sign, and building paint. The
building color selection adhered to the strict requirements of the Colfax
Landmark District, Exterior Paint Palettes’ requirements in the Roadside
District.
