Buchanan Residence

Location: Raleigh St, Denver, CO
Scope:     Attic Conversion
Completed: Fall 2007

ArcWest Architects worked with the local Denver owner to assist in realizing their vision to convert the existing attic of their house into usable living space.  To accomplish this here were two primary elements required; a stair to provide the required vertical access and second, and window dormers to expand the floor area for more available clear head room.

The project was completed with three steps. The initial task was to complete as-built documents for the residence and gain a better understanding of the owner’s needs with on-site meetings and first hand review of the house.  The next task was to explore and provide initial design solutions for the owner’s review.  After the owner’s approval, modifications were completed and the documents were refined for the owner’s submittal to the local Denver building department to be granted a construction permit.

ArcWest Architects worked with the owner to provide services which assisted the project’s development to be highlighted and presented on the “Do it Yourself” network program: Sweat Equity.
