Todd Heirls Arcwest Architects

Todd L. Heirls

Architect & Founding Partner

Todd founded ArcWest to focus on project management and operational organization and build a firm portfolio of both residential and commercial projects. The profession recognizes Todd as a responsive project manager with an in-depth understanding of integrated building systems and construction methods. As a project leader Todd collaborates directly with owners and senior management to develop a design that meets the client’s goals with functional and aesthetic solutions.

Todd’s hobbies include mountain biking, skiing, camping and welding. Todd had become and experienced welder and many time fabricates custom steel details used in ArcWest’s projects. Prior to forming ArcWest, Todd held senior management positions with national A&E firms.

Todd is married to Tina and they have two children, Connor and Ainsley.

Kevin H. Anderson

Architect & Founding Partner

Kevin founded ArcWest to focus on design and build a firm portfolio of both residential and commercial projects. Kevin has been a licensed Colorado Architect for over 25 years and is known as a creative and strong designer with a thorough understanding of the architectural and construction process. This is demonstrated with successfully completed projects as diverse as corporate office buildings, publishing facilities, urban redevelopment and single family residences.

Kevin’s hobbies include traveling, mountain biking, hiking, camping and enjoying Denver’s urban culture. Prior to forming ArcWest, Kevin and his wife Erika spent two years in the South Pacific country of Vanuatu as Peace Corps Volunteers.

Kevin is married to Erika and they have a daughter, Isla.

Robin has been practicing architecture in Denver for over 30 years and maintains a LEED Green Associate certificate. Robin strives to maintain a reputation for dedication and focus towards client service while offering creative solutions at all levels of design and construction issues. As an architect and project manager, Robin brings a depth of planning & design experience to each unique project.

Robin’s hobbies include mountain biking, skiing, camping, photography and music.

Robin is married to Susan and they have three children, Hazel, Althea and Delilah.

Erick Sherwood

Architectural Associate

Erick Sherwood joined the ArcWest team in August 2019. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors’ of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado. During his undergraduate career, Erick interned with professors to research urban redevelopment in Boulder, studied abroad in Rome, Italy, and completed an undergraduate honors thesis focusing on the role of architecture and planning in the Olympic Games.

Erick grew up in the Denver, Colorado area. His hobbies include skiing, hiking, photography, and woodworking.

ArcWest Architects Tom Fergusun

Tom Ferguson

Tom joined the ArcWest team in January 2020 after moving to Denver from Houston. With a strong upbringing in construction, Tom graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors’ degree in Construction Management. After working in the industry for some years he pursued his passion for Architecture and graduated from the University of Houston with a Masters of Architecture. During his Architecture studies, Tom studied abroad in France and Brazil where he focused on Urban complexities of the “city” from a sociological, economic and ecological context. His understanding of scale has helped him garner a better appreciation for design, big and small.

Tom grew up in the Philadelphia area where he appreciated the colonial heritage of the city, while admiring the postmodern works from Robert Venturi and Louis Kahn. In his downtime he enjoys traveling, music, sketching, camping, snowboarding and working on his car collection.

ArcWest Architects Cody-Van-Holland

Cody Van Holland

Cody Van Holland joined the ArcWest team in July of 2020. He graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a Master of Architecture degree in May 2020.

Cody also worked in residential construction for 4 years in Iowa and in Denver. His construction knowledge ranges from custom homes to high-end decks and outdoor living in the Denver area. Prior to working at ArcWest Cody worked at a production housing firm in Boulder where he gained experience in all aspects of the residential process.

Originally from South Dakota, Cody has adapted to Colorado life swiftly and effortlessly. During his free time, Cody enjoys snowboarding, playing and coaching soccer, construction, and hanging out with friends and family.

Jason Astorino

Jason Astorino joined ArcWest during the unprecedented time of Spring 2020. He brings experience in project management and design, as well as creativity learned from his undergraduate studies in Fine Arts and Art History at the University of Pittsburgh. Jason enjoys working on both residential and commercial projects, discovering innovative solutions to tectonic problems in architecture. Jason holds a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado where he studied Architecture and was lucky to spend a semester in Helsinki, Finland studying Scandinavian design. In 2016, he was the recipient of the AIA Hobart D. Wagener travel scholarship to continue his study of Scandinavian design in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

In his spare time, Jason loves to mountain bike and snowboard, but is usually working on his historic 1907 Denver home with his girlfriend, Lynn, and their son Eero.

Nate Holbrook

Nate joined the ArcWest team in December 2020. He graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a Masters degree in Architecture in the spring of 2018. During his studies at CU Denver his primary focus was on sustainability and green architecture with an emphasis on passive solar design strategies to achieve ZNE (zero net energy) buildings. While attending grad school and prior to working for ArcWest, Nate worked full time for an architecture firm in Denver as a project manager working on the design and construction of stealth telecom sites for Verizon Wireless. Nates holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During his undergraduate studies he spent a semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy.

A Colorado native, Nate grew up enjoying the Colorado sunshine and plentiful outdoor recreation the rocky mountains provide. He enjoys hiking, camping, cycling, snowboarding, and rock climbing. He also enjoys woodworking in his spare time and has designed and built much of his own furniture.

ArcWest Architects Marcus Vesely

Marcus Vesely

After earning educational degrees at Montana and Kansas State Universities, Marcus Vesely landed back in his home state of Colorado as an associate with ArcWest Architects in late 2020. His focus at ArcWest spans a range of project types, including remodels, additions, single and multi-story ground-up builds, and landmark projects.

Prior to joining ArcWest, Marcus gained a range of experience in environmental, exterior, and interior design for both public and private sector organizations. He also developed knowledge in adaptive reuse within historic neighborhoods and flexible interior structures through his thesis work while in school.

Marcus is a true Colorado outdoorsman and enjoys fly fishing, skiing, and exploring the outdoors. He is also an avid woodworker and loves to restore anything old and interesting.
